Gerry Bracewell's celebration of life will be held at the Bracewell family lodge at Tatlayoko Lake on Saturday June 29th and Sunday June 30th 2024.
Gerry Bracewell passed away peacefully in her sleep at one hundred and one on November 2nd 2023.
Gerry Bracewell is well know as an advocate for the Chilcotin since she first came to the Cariboo-Chilcotin region in the late 30s . She was instrumental in developing the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association , Guide Outfitters Association of BC, Tatlayoko post office, Tatlayoko school, Gymkhana, Bella Coola Ferry and many other positive advancements in the region. Gerry was the first female hunt guide and first female guide outfitter in British Columbia in 1945.
Some folks are just tough. We know one , our mother, grandmother and great grandmother who began her next adventure November 2nd 2023.
We will have a gathering June 29th and 30th 2024 at her lodge in Tatlayoko Valley to honour her many achievements and share fond memories of a woman with so many talents and honest love for the adventure of new challenges.
